Scatole Sonore

The installation is visually inspired by the work of Alberto Giacometti and Fausto Melotti, offering architectural elements in a poetic relationship of dialogue with the human figure. It is composed by a set of sound sculptures that play through the wind’s action. The four elements are made of recycled construction materials such as pallets and beams, and they are simultaneously both active signs in the landscape and active artworks interpreting the place from the point of view of sound.
These sculptures, which house inside them “vocal” cords put into vibration by the passage of the wind, directly derive their shape from the jazz’s quartet ensemble: in fact they are four different musical instruments that follow the rhythm of the wind.
During the project the artist is assisted by Fabio Volpi, artist and sound designer.
